Human Rights and Business Section

"Human Rights and Business” Section

There are a number of institutions in Poland that focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) promotion and advise corporations on their social engagement. However, despite the fact that business enterprises incur large losses because of the inadequate handling of human rights concerns, there is a surprising lack of a centre of expertise on the relationship between business and human rights standards, which as highlighted by the United Nations (UN) and the European Union are at the heart of the corporate social responsibility.

It was with the aim to fill in this gap that Allerhand Institute’s Human Rights & Business Programme was created in May 2012, and subsequently transformed it into a full fledged section in April 2013.
